Q:  What is the official reference regarding VAT, taxes and customs from the European Union?

A: You can find more details about VAT, taxation and customs on the official website of the European Union, please click on the link:  https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/business/vat/eu-consumers_en

Q: What is VAT? Why do I have to pay VAT?

A: The Value Added Tax, or VAT, in the European Union is a general, broadly based consumption tax assessed on the value added to goods and services. It is borne ultimately by the final consumer and is charged as a percentage of the price, including transportation fees and any other services included in the sale. Q: How is VAT calculated? What is the VAT rate applicable in my country?

A: The VAT is often levied based on the price (considering both goods and shipping fees) at the applicable VAT rate. The VAT rate varies depending upon the type of commodities purchased in the final destination country/place. The standard VAT rate in the EU ranges from 17% to 27%, and some countries offer reduced rates applicable to certain types of commodities.

The applicable VAT rate can be found here:

Q: Where can I get an invoice for my order with VAT?

A: Invoices are available for all orders purchased in Gshopper, you can directly download it in your order.

Q:  I ordered before July 1, do I need to pay for VAT for receiving goods?

A:  For transitional period commodities, as they were purchased before 1 July, our logistics partners may contact you for the relevant import VAT and charges, subject to the implementation practice of the EU customs authority and the logistics partners.

If you purchased goods from a shipping place located in the EU, this part of the tax is borne by the seller since the goods are already in the EU, so you don't need to pay any additional taxes after purchase.

Q: Will I be charged again when goods deliver to my country?

A: If you have paid for the order with VAT in Gshopper, the VAT shall not be charged again by the customs/logistics provider. If you were charged again, please keep the invoice and submit it to the Customer Service Team to get a refund of it. Please note: in this case, the administration costs paid to the logistics provider cannot be refunded.

Q:  Will VAT be returned back to me when the order was refunded?

A : For orders that Gshopper has not charged VAT, that is, PurChion has not collected and remitted such VAT. For all tax refund matters, please contact your local tax/customs department for processing. You may further check with the seller and relevant tax/customs authority to learn more about this.

For orders that Gshopper has charged VAT, we'll refund you the VAT as appropriate. Gshopper will calculate and refund the VAT according to your refunded or partially refunded orders.
